Lion Dance Class 

Dates: 15,22 & 29 Apr, 13, 20 & 27 May, 3,10,17 & 24 Jun (10 Saturday lessons)

Time: 2:35 - 4:00pm

Fee: £120 for 10 lessons

Lion dance is a form of traditional performance art in East Asia and common in Hong Kong, mainland China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, etc. Performers mimic a lion's movements in a lion costume to bring good luck and fortune.  Lion dance combines Chinese martial arts with acrobatics and is commonly accompanied by the music of beating of drums, cymbals, and gongs. It is a most popular performance during festivals and celebrations. 

The class will be given by an experienced and award-winning instructor from Hong Kong and open to all interested children in Kingston. Siblings and parents are welcome. Upon completion of 10 lessons, students will master the basic lion dance skills and be able to give performances at school events and social activities.

舞獅是一種東亞民間傳統表演藝術，於中國大陸、日本、朝鮮半島、香港、澳門、台灣、馬來西亞、新加坡、越南、琉球都可以揾到到。然而，各地獅子嘅樣貌，皆是對獅子形態宛然不同嘅藝術詮譯。

到了英國，我們要靠下一代承傳香港文化，介紹給本地人知道，亦希望令他們認識醒獅可以一齊玩。如小朋友有興趣學舞獅及認識獅藝傳統文化，完成基礎課程後能夠掌握基本醒獅技巧，將獲安排參加公開演出。

導師：梁沛棠 Sugar Leung (前香港代表隊/ 香港公開賽冠軍/香港盛興龍獅體育中心前龍獅總監 )

Ticket policy:

1) The class consists of 10 lessons and the fee of each lesson is £10. All payment is non-refundable.

2) Any absences will not be refunded.

3) Due to venue issues or instructors' sick leave, any cancelled lessons will be fully refunded.

4) St Luke's Summer Fair will be on 24 Jun, school hall will not be available.  Venue will be changed to New Malden Methodist Church.

1) 學費每節£10，全期10節，一經繳付，恕不設退款。

2) 如學生告假或缺席，將不會安排退款。

3) 如有不可控制的因素需要取消課程，例如學校有特別活動取消租場，我們會為受影響的課堂安排退款。

4) St Luke's Summer Fair將於6月24日舉行，上課地點將改為New Malden Methodist Church。
